QUITMAN STREET CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS

Gradient Group, LLC was selected by the Greater Northside Management District to provide conceptual design, preliminary design and engineering reports, design development, final design, permitting, Bid and construction phase services in connection to the back-of-curb infrastructure improvements along Quitman Street located in the north section of City of Houston. It is the desire of the Greater Northside Management District to provide concrete sidewalks reconstruction, ADA ramps, curbs, driveway bibs, and pedestrian lighting along Quitman Street for 4,325 feet (0.82 miles) from South Road to Gano Street. The back of curb improvements are according to all American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) requirements. All elements of the project are within ½ mile of METRO’s fixed guideway transit system. The project improvements include: 6’ sidewalks and 15 wheelchair ramps compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards; 1,000 yards of sidewalk replacement; crosswalk re-striping; over 3,500 linear feet of new curb; landscaping buffers with 10,000 linear feet of native plantings and landscaping and pedestrian lighting.
