Gradient Group, LLC provided the civil engineering for 1.5 acres of this entire City block uniquely placed in the City’s theatre district for the Houston First, The City of Houston. The site will enhance the outdoor use for a multitude of space options from farmers markets, food trucks, outdoor concerts, pedestrian, bicycle and transit facilities and general public use while adding an exceptional restaurant dining experience. We worked with City of Houston on the adjacent infrastructure improvements, obtained encroachment agreements for the hardscape within the street right-of-way and provide permitting expertise for the project design elements that proved to be exclusive to this specific project. The plaza will undergo a $25 million redevelopment project thanks to a partnership among Houston First Corp., which operates the city’s convention and performing arts facilities; the City of Houston; and the Downtown Redevelopment Authority, a city economic development organization.
