FLOOD CONTROL CHANNEL IMPROVEMENTS – PRECINCT 4

Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD)

Gradient Group, LLC was selected for restoring 14,000 linear feet of Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) drainage channels and tributaries to their original conditions after years of silt build up and deterioration.  The scope of services included walking the facilities with HCFCD staff and developing Plan & Profile /Cross-Section and Quantities plan sheets for drainage system repairs to various channels and tributaries located in Precinct 4. Channels consisted of 4 batches of drainage channels that had unacceptable silt in the bottom of the channels, suggesting that the channels hold water and result in poor drainage.  The design for the repair of these channel included re-establishing the original channel flowline, channel bottom width and channel side slopes within the high-bank of the channel.

The Plan & Profile and Cross-Section plan sheets were prepared using HCFCD CAD Standards Manual with Cross-section sheets reflecting calculations of cut-and-fill sheet quantities and cumulative totals.
