AUTOMATED ROADWAY FLOOD WARNING SYSTEM

Gradient Group, LLC was selected by the City of Houston to develop the regional-level ITS architecture for the City of Houston, Harris County, TxDOT and other stakeholders regarding the proposed flood warning system project. Proposed Scope of Work, Systems Engineering Documentation for the City of Houston Roadway Flood Warning System Project at 40 low water crossings within the City Limits of Houston. The project included interfacing project-level ITS architecture to the regional-level ITS architecture that use the existing Regional ITS Architecture to develop a TIGER project architecture through the use of the ARC-IT V8.2 ITS architecture tool, RAD-IT (Regional Architecture Development for Intelligent Transportation) and SET-IT (Systems Engineering Tool for Intelligent Transportation). The deliverables included 1) a revised Architecture file, to be used by the project team and by H-GAC (for recommended changes to the regional architecture); and 2) a technical memorandum summarizing changes in the ARC-IT file and what refinements were made since additional stakeholder needs and operational approaches may be identified that were not envisioned at the regional level.
