Gradient Group is looking for an innovative Civil Engineer to join our Site Development team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating engineering and construction plans for a variety of development projects based on their calculations and any research conducted. This person should have experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, H&H and be able to utilize strong design skills.
Key Technical Responsibilities:
- Producing private/public site work & civil engineering construction plans, reports, and studies for various projects.
- Overseeing daily operations and deliverables that may be necessary for the projects.
- Achieve project objectives by managing CAD Designers and junior team members.
- Detail oriented civil engineering design.
- Manage client needs, project scopes, budgets, support personnel, and schedule.
- Management of consultants for design efforts outside of those handled by Gradient Group.
- Review and summarize environmental, geotechnical, traffic, and other essential reports for design implementation.
- Attend meetings with clients and consultants to understand project needs and issues, as well as present proposed solutions and design approaches.
- Construction administration management for submittals, RFI’s, and site visits with direct Contractor communication and field problem-solving capabilities.
- Comply and enforce QA/QC procedures for every phase of the project.
- Business development activities and assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- 4+ years of experience for site development civil engineering projects.
- Texas PE Required.
- Experience with local jurisdictional governments related to design criteria and permitting (City of Houston, Harris County, TxDOT, Ft Bend County, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in regard to project calls and correspondence.
