We’re seeking a Roadway Manager with strong leadership skills and 8+ years of relevant experience in roadway design and project delivery. This role is ideal for someone ready to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and ensure high-quality outcomes on municipal and transportation projects across Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight & Delivery
- Manage the full project lifecycle for roadway and civil infrastructure projects, including design oversight, production, QA/QC, scheduling, and construction support.
- Lead the preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, and technical reports, ensuring compliance with agency standards and client expectations.
- Oversee the development of roadway design components such as alignment, typical sections, and profiles with consideration of ROW, utilities, drainage, and constructability.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to engineers-in-training (EITs), designers, and junior project managers.
- Foster a positive, collaborative working environment that encourages open communication and shared learning.
- Coordinate internal resources and staff workloads to meet project deadlines and budgets.
- Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and reviewing agencies.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with municipal clients, TxDOT, and subconsultants.
- Lead progress meetings, technical presentations, and project coordination calls as needed.
- Quality Control & Standards
- Champion QA/QC procedures across project deliverables to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, and project performance, and proactively adjust course as needed to deliver successful outcomes.
- Business Development Support
- Collaborate with leadership on proposals, scopes, and fees.
- Identify opportunities for follow-on work and maintain awareness of upcoming agency solicitations and funding initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in roadway design and project management, including direct experience with municipal roadway projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D software is required. Experience in MicroStation, OpenRoads and ProjectWise experience are a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Bluebeam.
- TxDOT experience is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Committed to producing high-quality work and meeting project goals.
- Must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Salary will be determined based on experience.
