We are seeking a Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 0 – 2 years of relevant experience who is interested in quickly contributing and thriving in a fast-paced, positive, mutually supportive environment.
Key Technical Responsibilities:
- Assist project managers in the execution of engineering projects, including but not limited to the production of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction phase services.
- Develop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements and cost.
- Develop plans and specifications that comply with preexisting state and municipality requirements.
- Identify and analyze the principal design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project’s purpose and need.
- Use computer assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Prepare written technical reports and engineering studies using approved company formats.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate or ability to obtain EIT certificate within 6 months of being hired.
- 0 – 2 years of experience working on roadway projects, including previous experience on municipal roadway projects.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD required. Civil 3D experience is preferred.
- Proficient with MS Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Proficient with Bluebeam.
- Self-starter with strong oral and written communications skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours as required.
- Authorized to work permanently in the US.
